Mythic Quest was cancelled on Apple TV+ after 4 seasons
Mythic Quest is a workplace comedy set in the world of video game production.
It premiered on February 7, 2020 and recently concluded its fourth season with Apple TV+.
The show is one of Apple’s most acclaimed comedy series, both by critics and viewers.
But the loyal fanbase seems too small for Apple to keep things running.
Apple TV+ canceled the series following four seasons of running, according to Joe Otterson Variety:
“The ending is tough. But after four incredible seasons, Mythic Quest is coming to an end,” said series executive producers Megan Ganz, David Hornsby and Rob McElhenney. “We are so proud of the show and the world we had to build, and we are deeply grateful to all the cast and crew members who put their hearts into every fan. Thank you to all the fans for playing with us. Thank you to our partners at Apple for believing in our vision from the start.
That last Tidbit is worth noting. Apple has approved a revision of the season 4 finale.

For external observers, the quest for cancelled myths may be a surprise.
In addition to the long runs so far, the show also won the latest spinoff series, Side Quest.
There’s no official reason for cancellation, but I noticed that the show didn’t do much on Apple TV+’s top charts in the season 4 run of Mythic Quest.
This is problematic in any situation, but it is particularly troublesome for one important reason. MythicQuest aired at the same time as Sevelance season 2.
If Apple TV+ can’t succeed when it has more viewers than ever before, streamers don’t have much future.
