You can use Alexa on your Echo device to request or reorder Amazon elements
Estimated reading time: 4 minutes
Amazon Echo’s speakers and screens offer many characteristics, from playing music and podcasts, to telling you about the weather and announce who is at the main door.
You can also use Alexa on your speaker or Echo screen to request or reorder elements through Amazon, however, whether they are container coatings, ink cartridges or something more exciting.
The Echo Show range will also show its next requests from Amazon if you wish, which we have covered separately, but here we are focusing on how to use Alexa to order or reorder an element on Amazon on its screen or echo speaker.
What you will need
- Your smartphone or tablet
- Its speaker or echo screen
The short version
- Ask Alexa to request the article you want to order or reorder.
- If you are on an intelligent screen, the elements that Alexa has found will appear on the screen.
- If you are using an Echo speaker, Alexa will choose the most likely option based on the history of your order and will be added directly to your basket.
- Tell Alexa the number of the product you want to request or reorder according to the list.
- Give your pin code if you are asked to confirm the purchase.
It is nice and easy to ask or reorder Amazon elements using Alexa, almost too easy in fact. We don’t need excuses to spend money here! It is worth mentioning that the experience is much more friendly when an echo show 15 or show 21 is used, or the Hub has made a speaker, but it is possible to ask for items on Amazon using Alexa in both.
You must ensure that you have enabled the purchase of voice through the Alexa application if you want to instantly order the items, and it is also worth verifying your default payment method on Amazon, since that is what Alexa will use when ordering.
Any element that has been ordered in the past will first be shown on its echo screen as options to select. When you use an Echo speaker, Alexa will choose the most likely option you can choose from the history of your order and add it to your shopping basket. You can delete it from your shopping basket if it is not what you are looking for, of course.
For example, if you have previously ordered bed head shampoo and asks Alexa to request shampoo, that is the first option that will be on its echo screen or the aggregate option to your basket on your speaker will be. It will depend on the purchase preferences of your voice as to how the order is made.
-
Step 1.
Ask Alexa to request the article you want to buy
First, tell Alexa to request the article you want. For example, say “Alexa, order the shaving blades” in its echo or echo speaker exhibition. A list of options will appear on your Echo or Echo Hub program. If you are using an Echo speaker, Alexa will automatically add the most likely article to your basket.
-
Step 2.
Tell Alexa the article number
When using an Echo screen, you can move through the options presented by Alexa on the screen. It is a simple blow. To request one of the products on the list, say “Alexa, add number 1 to my basket”, or “Alexa, reorder article number 1”. If you are using an Echo speaker, Alexa will tell you the article that has been added to your basket. So you can decide if that’s what you want.
-
Step 3.
Make sure the voice purchase is enabled
This is where you should ensure that the voice purchase is enabled. If you have it enabled, Alexa will simply order the article you have chosen using its default payment method. It is possible that a pin be asked to confirm the purchase, depending on how you have configured it. If you have not done so and you are not sure how to do it, we have a separate guide on how to configure the purchase of voice.
That’s all! Alexa should have asked for the article he was looking for and can follow the rest of his day.
Frequent questions
Yes, you can ask Alexa to request anything from Amazon, but if he has not previously ordered it, the options will not adapt to you and instead will be the main options that Alexa chooses.
