We’ve tested many gears over the years, from laptops to smart rings to random technical accessories buried in drawers. But of all of that, there are a few items that I have been reaching out over and over again. There’s no way to get mad in terms of accessories types, but you just know that they work. These are the non-apple technology products that I rely on every day.

Be sure to check out the practical videos below!

This is my longest extended product and the product that sparked this idea. I have tried so many different mice for my Mac and iPad, and I continue to return to the mice anywhere on Logitech. What I have is the 2S version I bought in 2018. So I’ve been using this mouse every day for over 7 years and it’s still strong. We have been releasing the 3S version since 2018, but the main difference is that the new version charges via USB-C, and doubles the DPI to 4000-8000, improving accuracy. But I have never been in a situation where 2 seconds is inaccurate.

The Anywhere 2s is still on sale for just under $50, while the 3S is just under $80. A great option for you (if not more) that lasts for 10 years. Both can be connected to three different devices at once, and charges last up to six months.

I use my iPhone for my videos and photos. The iPhone 16 Pro Max video is great in its own right, but I wanted to upgrade the camera a bit without actually getting a new one. So I got a 60mm telephoto lens to help with natural blur and I was impressed. Go ahead and watch some of the recent videos.

It’s not just about making lenses. They also manufacture many other video shooting equipment for the iPhone, from Magsafe Light attachments to camera grips, and gear installation. If you need to level up your iPhone photos, these are the ways to go.

Nomad is known for making amazing high quality accessories, from the slim charging series to the Horween Leather and our beloved Apple Watch bands. Earlier this year, they released a universal cable with a built-in Apple Watch charging. To be honest, I thought it was a little higher at first. But now, when it comes to charging on the go, I will never leave the house. You get:

  • 100W USB-C PD cable
  • Apple Watch Fast Charger
  • Kevlar reinforcement
  • Electroplating metal connector
  • Length 1.5m
  • Integrated cable tie
  • USB 2.0 data transfer speed

High quality, simple, point-to-point, and smart price. So you can tell in which direction to charge, depending on the device that needs power from the post.

This product deserves a full review of its own, but I wanted to mention it briefly here. I love betting my health and tracking my wellness data. I’ve always been intrigued by the ring form factor and watches, especially for sleep tracking. I love my Apple Watch Ultra, but it’s a bit bulky to sleep on. So Ultra Human Ring really intervened as my overall wellness tracker. I use it for daily wellness tracking, sleep, and my running. The best part is that there is no subscription plan. So you can go with a one-time purchase of $349. The app also has all the data and metrics you’ll need so far, from sleep scores to caffeine intake windows.

I can’t recommend it enough, so please let me know if you want a more detailed review of this ring!

One of my favorite charging accessory brands has released a 3-in-1 charger that appears to be ignoring physics. On the surface, it may look like a typical Qi2 3-in-1 charger, but this is very slim and compact. I measure under 4mm at that thinnest point!

  • QI2 wireless charging with 15W
  • 5W AirPods Charging Pad
  • Fast Charging Apple Watch Charger
  • 45W charging brick in the box

I love how thin this charger is and for the price it belongs to your everyday carry!

SSD storage

When it comes to storage, I always seem to go back to two different options. There is a Lexar SL500 and a Samsung T9. Both are great storage options for relatively the same price, depending on the storage size. Both can reach up to 4 TB and have read and write speeds of 2000 Mbps. I’ve been using these every day for over a year and it was the most reliable option for SSDs I’ve ever used. I have lost data in the past using cheap SSDs. When using storage solutions, it is important to have that peace of mind.

You can get the Samsung T9 for $130 for the 1TB version and the Lexar SL500 for under $115 for 1TB.

Final Thoughts

None of these products are flashy. They are just built to be reliable, functional and lasting. So they won a spot in my daily tech setup. Whether you’re editing videos, charging on the go, or tracking sleep without a subscription, these tech items are great to add to anyone’s tech toolkit. If you have your own essential skills, I would love to hear about it.
