After rejecting the initial report, Apple could eventually expand iPhone assembly in Brazil
Early April, Brazilian business magazine test Apple reported that it is considering increasing iPhone assemblies at both Foxconn facilities in Jundiaí in Sao Paulo.
now, test It’s doubled in the original report.
Changes to the plan
At the time, the company said there were no plans to increase local production, and that Jundiaí’s factory was aiming to supply the Brazilian market. For over a decade, Apple has been building iPhones locally with Jundiaí. Currently, these factories assemble iPhone 16, 16 Plus and 16e.

now, test Apple claims it has actually decided to increase Brazilian iPhone assemblies as part of its strategy to avoid US tariffs.
In the report dated April 25th, test Apple said it began studying the possibility of updating machinery and industrial processes at its Foxconn facility in Jundiaí last year, and in fact will supply these factories to the US market as alternatives.
It is noteworthy that during the fiscal second quarter demands last week, CEO Tim Cook and CFO Kevan Parev did not mention Brazil when discussing Apple’s strategy to mitigate the impact of President Trump’s tariffs. So far, Apple has only confirmed that India and Vietnam will increase their production share of products engaged in the US, and that China will remain the main production base for other parts of the world.
