
Ankur Warikoo is 44 and free, thanking 6-pack abs: Second Life, he says
Ankur Warikoo is diagnosed with avascular necrosis and the doctor tells him to stop walking. But he didn’t give up – he continued running marathons and achieved an exciting weight loss transformation.
Ankur Warikoo, an Indian entrepreneur and content creator, is a transformed man. A life-changing diagnosis of avascular necrosis, a painful bone tissue-related condition, led him to fight it and take on personal challenges to come back stronger. His doctor asked him to stop walking, but he was persistent in his pursuit to change his health. At 44, he is now proudly “fat-free” and flaunts his six-pack abs.
In a recent Instagram post, Ankur Warikoo shared the journey and introduced photos back and forth. This is not the first time he has spoken about his fitness journey. He often shares insights into his fitness and lifestyle habits. He previously revealed that he had traced a predominantly vegetarian diet, falling from 79 kg to 69 kg.
Ankur Warikoo diagnosed with avascular necrosis
“Stop walking!” The doctor wrote that in February 2012 he rolled up the prescription twice. At the age of 32, Ankur Warikoo was diagnosed with abrain necrosis. “The bones in my hips were rotten. I lay 10% and lying without any cause,” he shared. This condition led him to undergo surgery, then relied on a full bed rest and crutches for five months. It was the stage where he tested both his physical endurance and mental strength.

“Life told me to stop walking. How can I tell you that this chapter is over and that I have won?” What he describes as a “mad moment,” he decided to train for a marathon that is far from the advice of a doctor. After 10 months of training, he completed the half marathon, but the finish line didn’t feel like a victory. “I felt good about it, but I felt the opposite. I felt fooled.”
Explaining this feeling, Ankur said, “Up to that day, the maximum I’ve ever run was 14km. I could always show up and finish 21km without preparing.”
A journey from 26% body fat to six packs of abs
This perception led him to ask himself, “What can I do for the things I had to show up every day?” And that’s when he decided – “6-pack abs!” With 33-year-old body fat, Ancourt rethinks his life. “I had to change everything and get to under 10% body fat, and I did. Despite being a food lover, he mostly followed the vegetarian diet and focused on healthy diets.
Ten years later, in 2024, at the age of 44, he decided to repeat his journey. “Today I’m 44 and fat-free,” he proudly shared. His transformation isn’t just about building abs. It’s about thinking, consistency and resilience. “Thank you for this ‘second’ life,” Ancourt finished his post with gratitude.
Ankur Warikoo loses 10 kg and calls himself “43 and no free”
Last year, entrepreneur Ankur Warikoo shared his inspiring weight loss journey, revealing that he lost 10 kilos in a year. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he proudly wrote, “FAT free at 43!” And he hoped that his journey would motivate others. Wariku shared that he weighed 79 kg in 2023 and reduced it to 69 kg by 2024.
In another YouTube video, he used what is called the “3T model”, track, training and conversions to break the weight loss conversion.
- in Track phasehe monitored his calorie intake and focused on reducing 1kg of fat by creating a deficit of 7,000-7,500 calories. He also increased his protein intake to maintain his muscles.

Ankur Warikoo has become healthy following mainly on the vegetarian diet
In one previous Instagram post, Ankur Warikoo was opened about his diet plan to help him lose weight and fitness journey. His routine was primarily vegetarian and focused on maintaining balance. Look at it here:
- 9:30am: 1 scoop of whey protein + creatine + 1 walnut + 4 almonds + 4 cashew nuts + 5-6 raisins + supplements (Note: Use supplements only after consulting with a medical professional)
- 11am: 200 gm raw paneer, tofu or tempe or three egg whites (rarely – I don’t like eggs) or dalcira
- 1pm: Fruit (banana, half apple, mango, chick)
- 4pm: 2 Rotis (Emmer Wheat/Jowar/Soya Bean) + sabzi + dal + low fat card
- 6:30pm: Scoop protein in volume 1
His supplement list included omega-3, vitamin B12, vitamin D, whey protein, and creatine.
“Of course, there were days when I had a coal bayceae and sweets,” he shared, “The key was to hit a calorie deficit most days.
