As discovered by a judge on Sigmund, Apple landed at the box office on June 27th, continuing its marketing blitz for F1: The Movie, which will be streamed to Apple TV+ later in the year.

Apple is certainly in the way to push for film recognition. We have already seen Apple release a special tactile trailer, Kickoff WWDC, with F1 sketches, and Tim Cook and Brad Pitt making a surprising appearance at the Fifth Avenue Apple Store over the weekend. And today we expanded our Apple Immersive Content pool with the new Hot Lap Immersive Instrument, available in the Apple Vision Pro TV app.

The new immersive title allows headset wearers to experience the thrill of racing at high speeds, with movie star Brad Pitt taking a test drive around the track with race seat Brad Pitt. Like all Apple Immersive content, it is recorded in a special 180-degree video format at 8K resolution to make the most of Vision Pro’s technical capabilities.

Immersive Content is a best selling point for Vision Pro, but there was very little content available at the time of release. Over the past year, Apple has done a better job of rolling out new, immersive feature films on a more regular basis. Last month we debuted Bono: Stories of Surrender, the first immersive film with feature-level immersiveness.

We also deployed a new spatial gallery app to curate and feature more content optimized for Vision Pro, including 3D photos and panoramas.
