Apple releases new versions of iPados for older models with critical security updates
Apple has released iPads 17.7.8. This is a critical security bug fix release targeting iPad models that are too old to update to iOS 18. The new release is a follow-up to iPados 17.7.7.
iPads 17.7.8 can be installed on 2017 iPad Pro (10.5-inch and 12.9-inch) and 2018 iPad (6th generation).
It is recommended that you install the operating system as soon as possible, as it includes a built-in scope of fixes for various security vulnerabilities. This includes changes to deal with memory corruption, accessing sensitive data on disk, and more.
You can see all the fixes here. If you own a new iPad model, please update to the latest OS version, which is iPados 18.5.
