Updated June 21st: Apple has deleted videos from YouTube. The reason is not clear.

Below is an original article published on June 20th.

Earlier this week, Apple launched its annual Back to School promotion, offering free AirPods and other accessories to buy a new Mac or iPad.

Now, back to school, Apple shares a humorous new video, telling college students “how to convince your parents to get a Mac.”

The seven-minute video was posted on Apple’s YouTube channel today. It features incoming college students who practice how to sell their parents to get a Mac instead of a college PC.

Video presenter:

“You can’t put a price on a healthy spine. One of the main factors affecting spine health in your teenager is what you guessed: the weight of your school bag. And the MacBook Air weighs 2.7 pounds.

and:

“To keep things together, you can buy a MacBook Air for $899 or a PC, but you also need to buy antavirus software, manual backup software, a protective case, a guard dog to protect you from your roommates, and an external power bank. That means you’re crazy.”

However, Apple is one step further than video. Today, you can visit the website and download a “parent presentation” that highlights “45 undeniable reasons why Macs are essential to universities.” Parent presentations are available free of charge in PowerPoint, Google Slides and keynote formats.
