Market Intelligence Company Counterpoint Research publishes its first report on the In-ear Headphone Market. This is a category that is technically called TWS (True Wireless Stereo).
Apple’s new model lineup will reinvigorate the market, and the upcoming release of the AirPods Pro 3 is expected to stimulate the exchange demand for existing Pro users, thanks to its enhanced healthcare capabilities and an immersive audio experience. However, due to the high price of the PRO model, it is unlikely to drive growth in terms of shipment volume.
A more noticeable volume increase is expected around 2027, when the standard AirPods and new ANC-equipped versions are released.
The company reports that Apple’s global market share remains static (down 0.4%) at around 21%. This leaves the uncontroversial market leaders with second place Huawei at just 8%, with no other brands having more than 5% of the market.

In the smartwatch market, Apple has held over 50% market share over the years, making up the majority of its sales. Of course, it couldn’t last forever, and Apple’s share gradually reduced to an estimated 20% today.
It still has Cupertino company as the market leader, with Huawei in second place at 16%.
Despite witnessing a year-over-year decline for the sixth quarter in a row, Apple held its highest position in the global market, driven by growth in its IOS user base.
However, as Huawei continues to drive beyond its traditional Chinese and Indian bases, its position could change in the next year or two as Apple’s share continues to shrink while Huawei enjoys rapid growth.
