Aqara is finally taking intelligent blinds seriously. The Chinese company has just announced a collaboration with A-Ok, a veteran in the world of motorized shadow, to launch a complete set of windows compatible with the subject designed for both houses and for professional facilities.

If you have been waiting for automated curtains or tones of pergola that really play well with its Smart House configuration, beyond the fairly basic roller shadow controller, which was launched a few years ago, it is obviously a news welcome.

The movement gives A-O products a connectivity update, thanks to the intelligence of Aqara, baked directly.

That means support for the matter outside the box, with native integration in Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, Smartthings, Homey and Home Assistant.

Aqara tells us that it will work with A-Ok in a variety of motor coatings that include awnings, curtains, external Venetian blinds, interior blinds, pergolas, roller and blind blinds in Zig.

Beyond just being controllable at a distance, the new tones will also work with automation triggers; Think of light sensors, temperature readings or movement detection, to do things such as closing your EVBs when the sun turns on or adjusts your interior blinds as the room is heated.

You can also build scenes, whether “movie night” or a “wake up” routine with a morning sun and a slow rise on blinds.

Aqara says that the duo is also working on a personalized application for A-Ok users, so people who want more granular control or are not linked to one of the big home Smart platforms can obtain a solid application experience.

There are still no details about the launch details, but the two companies will show their co-developed alignment in R+T Asia in Shanghai this week (May 26-28).

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
