Butterfly adds Bluesky with beautiful apps to your Apple Watch
Want to bring the hottest new social networks to your Apple Watch? Leave it to indie developers to always find a way. The latest is a brand new client for Bluesky called Butterfly. Fortunately, it has nothing to do with the MacBook’s butterfly keyboard.
Reuben Catchpole, developer of the Instagram client for watchOS called Lens, highlighted Bluesky with today’s release of Butterfly for Apple Watch. Here is the app description:
Butterfly for Bluesky adds Bluesky to your watch. Scroll through your feed, interact with posts, view and send messages, check notifications, and even create your own posts, all from your wrist.
And it looks like this:
Butterfly for Bluesky works as expected. This is an Apple Watch-only app and does not require an iPhone client. Install directly on your Apple Watch and log in using your watch keyboard, password keychain, or iPhone keyboard. When you sign in, the app instantly displays your Discover or Follow timeline with controls for notifications, messaging, new posts, search, profile, and account visibility.
Butterfly is free to download to view your timeline, with optional in-app purchases to unlock messaging, posting, and other features. Butterfly is a great solution from someone who has experience porting social networks to the small screen of your wrist. Bluesky lovers, check it out now.
