Hands-on: These are my favorite iPados 26 accessories (video)
iPads 26 continues to scream at the summit that iPads have completely transformed into many people. I’ve been using the iPad Pro as my main computer since 2018, as I loved the idea and versatility of the iPad. However, it was difficult to recommend it as a computer solution for the average person. However, the iPados 26 has made this a new reality for 95% of people who need a computer. However, when you buy an iPad, you will get an iPad. So I wanted to share some of the best accessories to give you that computer-like feel to your iPad.
Check out the hands-on video below to get a look at everything I actually mention!
Finally, today is the beginning of Prime Day! iPads have big discounts, so if you’re in one market, today is the day to hook one!
I will be the first person to tell you that I love magic keyboards. But for the iPad Pro, it’s $350! You can literally buy an A16 iPad at that price. For many people, it is a difficult drug to swallow. So, the best option to continue offering the first party trackpad experience is the Logitech combo touch. All iPads except the iPad Mini have versions. You get:
- Large and accurate trackpads identical to Apple’s own
- Full size keyboard with function rows for quick control
- Removable design that doubles as a protective case
Combo Touch starts at as low as $120 on an entry-level iPad, and you’ll get a great Prime Day discount.

The new window system on the iPados 26 is excellent. Change how you visualize and interact with your iPad. However, using an external monitor with an iPados 26 gives it a computer-like feel. Don’t forget that proper extended monitor support is only available on M-series iPads such as iPad Pro and iPad Airs. One of my favorite portable monitors should be the Sotsu Pro/Elite 16! It looks like a large iPad on a studio display stand. There is an elite version in 4K and a Pro version of 2560 x 1600 in terms of resolution. In my opinion, save $160 and use the Pro unless you need 4K. But you get:
- 16-inch display connects via USB-C
- No external power required (you can turn off the iPad power)
- Rotation 360° for maximum flexibility
- Embedded SD card reader for creators
- It fits in a laptop bag
I love that this is a single cable solution, so I need a display and cable and it’s fine to go! The pro retails for $599, while the elite retails for $789. There’s also a cheaper alternative, as low as $159!

I’ve had this for about a year and it has to be one of the best iPad products I’ve ever had. A simple and well-built magnetic iPad stand. However, the secret trick is to charge the iPad while it is magnetically attached. Use the pin connector to charge your iPad in the same way you charge it when connected to a magic keyboard. There is a USB-C port on the rear, allowing pass-through charging. You get:
- Wirelessly charge your iPad via smart connector (up to 28W)
- Fully adjustable for various viewing angles
- Rotate 360° for easy content sharing
- Available for iPad Pro and iPad Air
It brings Magsafe-like convenience to your iPad setup. It’s currently on sale for under $90!

External SSD storage
I like to get a baseline level on my iPad Pro and tell people to get the most out of my cash. If you need additional storage, you can always get an external SSD to offload what you have on your iPad. Edit the video using an iPad, but with Lumafusion you use an external SSD to edit it. The iPad also has a Thunderbolt port, which allows for extremely fast transfers. I recommend two SSDs: the Lexar SL500 and the new Samsung T9 SSD. Both provide the fastest read and write speeds that the iPad can handle. Both are reliable and easy to use. A question of form factor preferences. One of the Lexars has a slim metal shell, but Samsung is a little thicker and has a more silicon/rubber protective outer shell.
Both are 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB varieties, and are as low as $120. The 4TB Samsung T9 is most valuable at $319!

I would like to use two charging accessories. If you’re looking for a simple yet very high quality and well-designed charging brick, we recommend the Nomad Slim 65W charger. It sells from $49 to $39. There are also 30W and 100W versions, but for iPads, the 65W is more than enough to charge at full speed, and if you need to charge your second device, there is a second port.
If you need a Swiss Army knife for your charger, the Infinacore P3 Pro is a 5-in-1 portable battery bank and a wall charger. It gives you:
- 65W regular power brick with AC prong
- Built with 10,000 mAh battery
- QI2 Wireless Charging Pad
- 2 USB-C ports and 1 USB-A port
- LED display with real-time charging diagnosis
It is currently on sale for $125, starting from the usual $200 price. Again, this charger does it all for you.
