Signify has discovered a new way to control lights… and of course, it’s AI. It’s always AI now, right?

Philips Hue’s generative AI assistant is coming to the Hue app later this year and will allow users to create personalized lighting scenes based on mood, occasion or style.

You can talk to the AI assistant with your voice or type commands; as can currently be done with products such as Govee and Nanoleaf.

So you can say things like “mood lighting for a dinner party” or “tropical lights for a beach-themed party” and the AI assistant will take care of colors, saturation, brightness, effects, and the like.

You’ll also be able to say more basic things like “it’s too light here” to make adjustments.

It’s not just AI news coming out of Signify; The smart lighting specialist also revealed that the Philips Hue Sync TV app now supports LG TVs on webOS24 or later.

Previously only available on Samsung TVs, it means your TV’s native streaming apps, such as Disney+ and Netflix. It also supports all image formats including 8K, 4K and HDR 10+.

Just like when using a Philips Hue Sync Box, you’ll of course need some Hue lights to create the effects.

It works with a variety of Hue bulbs (you set the layout in the Hue app), but the best experience (in my opinion) is when you add a Hue gradient light strip to the mix.

It’s not free though, it costs $3.99 / £2.69 monthly or you can pay $129.99 / £114.99 to have access to it forever.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
