Review: Benq 32-inch Ergo ARM programming monitor with Moonhalo has benefits for everyone
If your 27-inch 5K display isn’t yours, Benq’s 32-inch 4K monitor is an option I’ve tested and lovingly enjoyed. Using Moonhalo, the Benq RD320UA 32-inch Ergo ARM programming monitor is designed to maximize comfort during long coding (or writing) sessions.
How to use benq rd320ua
As a 4K display, the RD320UA is very sharp when using a 1920×1080 screen real estate. However, I use the scaled resolution option of 2560 x 1440 without straining my eyes. This works well when using a 32-inch 4K monitor next to a 27-inch 5K monitor without changing the oddity.
Speaking of eye strain, the RD320UA minimizes discomfort in three ways.
Moonharo
The Moonhalo light source illuminates the area behind it, like the customizable backlight behind the display, reducing eye tension from the monitor’s light.
This is perfect for late-night keyboard sessions. It beats what happens late in a dark room work or a bright room when you’re coding or writing.
Moonhalo can easily toggle/off with 7 colors of temperature, from sunlight to warm tones to adjustable brightness. Customize Moonhalo to various modes and you won’t have a cool backlight in light mode, a warm backlight in dark mode, or a backlight in M-Book mode.
When the display is turned off, Moonhalo will glow. During my testing, I used an actual display with MacMhalo Light at night with the MAC MINI using an Apple Vision Pro. After removing the Apple Vision Pro, the display woke up and Moonhalo lit up the room again. It was a fun experience!
Ergoarm
The ergoarm is fun to use. The monitor floats on the desk and can be easily raised and lowered with a light touch. The arm has two pieces that allow you to accurately position the monitor. You can also quickly rotate the display from the landscape to the portrait orientation.

Night protection
The RD320UA features nighttime protection that dynamically adjusts the brightness of the display for late-night work. “We use minimal brightness technology, low-light eye care filters, and optimizing dark room displays,” explains Benq.
Advanced low brightness technology that can go far below traditional limits, and nighttime protection allows programmers to find optimal brightness settings even in the darkest rooms, straining the eyes, and during code sessions At night, you can promote an elusive state of flow while the eyes remain fresh.
Importantly, switching modes and adjusting display settings are easily accessible through the built-in menu on the display. There’s no need to dig into complex settings.
Benq’s Nano Matte panels envelop my affinity for the RD320UA and recommend using them in direct lighting during the day, reducing glare in dark environments.
