Apple is a few days away from the official premiere of what has become the biggest theatrical bet to date, and early reactions suggest that they may actually paste landings. Alternatively, lock the pole position. You get what I’m saying.

What critics had to say after last night’s F1: The Movie press conference was starring Brad Pitt (Fight Club) and produced by legendary F1 champion Lewis Hamilton.

“It’s going to be so weird.”

As reported by Varietythe first reaction to F1: the film is overwhelmingly positive. Neldist and Rest room‘s maude garrett:

Thank you, Netflix?

As Variety points out, Apple’s biggest hit still has an interesting story of origin.

At a virtual press conference earlier this year, (director Joseph) Kosinski discussed the film’s production and explained that he became a Formula 1 race fan after discovering Netflix’s “Drive to Survive” series during the Covid pandemic.

Regardless of how the film turned out, the truth is that Apple couldn’t seek a better first response.

Brad Pitt, director Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), producer Jerry Brookheimer (remember the Titans), cinematographer Claudio Miranda (the strange case of Benjamin Button), and F1 great Lewis Hamilton became obsessed with the project, and apparently listened quickly promoted.

And while this kind of buildup doesn’t always pay off, it seems Apple is on track as it is a possible exception to prove the rules (do you get it?).

“F1: The Movie” will be held internationally on June 25th from June 25th, with theaters and IMAX nationwide on June 27th.

Apple TV+ is available for $9.99 a month, with TV shows and movies such as Ted Lasso, Severance, Studios, Morning Shows, Shrinks and Silos being hits.
