The newly elected Pope wears an Apple Watch at his first official mass
If you think tech nerds are overly obsessed with their hobbies, you don’t know to see nerds. The corner of the Internet clock hosts deep, vast debate that even the longest John Syracuse describing the accountant makes talk show episodes.
Recently, aside from the newly elected Pope, this constant crowd has attracted the attention of this constant crowd. And, after all, his holiness is the man of Apple Watch.
To be fair, Pope Leo XIV doesn’t wear it just Apple Watch. During his first public release as Pope, the mysterious model peeked out from under his sleeves, enough to break the internet of watches.
I was wearing a Wenger Swiss Military 7223X (as Esquire pointed out, it sold out quickly when the words came out)? Was it Casio? Maybe a Rolex? The argument is furious.
Anyway, the self-proclaimed “expert watch spot” Nick Gould realized, “During his first sacred mass, Pope Leo XIV sported the apple watch he had previously worn before being elected Cardinal.”
He’s right. Reddit user Alexander Humbolt excavated a photo of him celebrating an elderly parishioner at 7:35pm a few years ago.
Sadly, as user Bondibitch pointed out, this day is not enough image to determine if the ring has already been closed. But as a newly elected resident of one of the world’s most step-rich countries, the bishop now has plenty of opportunities.
