If you’re in the market for a new iPad, you’re probably wondering when the best time to buy. It all depends on which model you are interested in. The new iPad is expected to arrive soon in September, but some models have been waiting for another update for a long time. Here’s what we’re looking forward to updating the full iPad lineup:

iPad mini

Expected release: soon

The iPad Mini is usually the least ruined iPad. It will take several years between updates, as evidenced by the latest iPad Mini 6, which debuted in September 2021. Luckily, Apple is showing that it is preparing its iPad Mini 7 for release soon. This update was always scheduled to be released in 2024, but now it seems to be particularly close. With current iPad Mini Running Low stock at the Apple Store, Apple may surprise us with its September 9th debut along with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.

iPad

Expected release: soon

Apple’s base model iPad has expired due to upgrades, like the last update released in October 2022. The 10th generation iPad brought USB-C, a landscape front camera and a design refresh. Hopefully, in September or October, the 11th generation iPad will be released this fall. The changes are expected to be minor. This is because it will be something like an update to spec bumps. The Apple Intelligence compatible chip would be great, but it’s a wildcard.

iPad Pro

Expected release: Not immediately

The most powerful iPad, the iPad Pro doesn’t receive updates immediately. The current M4 iPad Pro debuted in May this year, and there is often an 18-month gap between the revised iPad Pro. Apple could potentially release their next pro a little earlier, with Spring 2025 the earliest date. But even in late 2025 or early 2026, it’s a safer bet. So, if you’re interested in getting an iPad Pro today, the M4 model is a great purchase.

iPad Air

Expected release: Not immediately

The iPad Air, which resembles the iPad Pro, was updated this spring. As a result, don’t expect another revision early in Spring 2025. The current M2 iPad Air packs in a lot of powerful technology at a lower price than its professional siblings. It is also available for the first time in two sizes: 11″ and 13″ If you’re looking forward to Apple Intelligence this fall, the iPad Air’s M2 chip provides ample computing power for new AI features.
